Department of Justice and Law Reform launch victims charter and guide to the Criminal Justice System (July 2010)
The Department of Justice and Law Reform recently launched the Victims Charter and Guide to the Criminal Justice System which describes the criminal justice system from a crime victim’s point of view. It sets out the victims rights and entitlements to the services given by the various state agencies working with crime victims.
Each section gives an overview of the following: What you can expect from the service; What you can do if the service does not meet your expectations; the role of the service. The Charter has eleven sections. The first nine contain the Charters of individual organisations.
