    Four criminal justice networks get to know each other at Criminal Justice Platform Europe


    CJPELate October 2011, an extraordinary event took place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Four European organisations from the criminal justice field met for the first time to establish an alliance between four organisations in the field of prison, probation, victim support and restorative justice. The shared aim is to reduce reoffending and the impact of crime and to improve methods of working with victims, communities and offenders across all the countries of Europe.     Presenting DOMICE to the European Community in Brussels


    DOMICE project manager Steve PittsThe Catalonian delegation to the EU was generous in organising a presentation of the DOMICE project at their offices in Brussels. This final presentation was a chance for members of the European community to become familiar with the DOMICE project. The project, in which CEP was a partner, is finalising its research and results. "I am very happy that the Generalitat de Catalunya provided us with this opportunity to present," says Steve Pitts, project director at NOMS in London. "This is an important opportunity to display the project results to senior members at the European policy level."

    Probation Trusts England & Wales decorated for sustained quality with Gold Medal for Excellence


    BQFA Award 2011 with Sue HallThe Probation Trusts of England & Wales have been awarded the Gold Medal for Excellence by the British Quality Foundation (BQF). The 35 Trusts received the medal in recognition of their continuous dedication to improvement. "It is a great honour for us to receive this award for excellence, particularly because we are the first organisation in the public sector to do so " says Sue Hall, Chair of the Probation Chiefs Association. The Gold Medal is presented annually by the BQF Board of Directors to an organisation that has shown outstanding and continued commitment to excellence over a number of years.
