Le Chéile Mentoring Project

Le Chéile is a mentoring project established in Coolock in North County Dublin. The project recruits, trains and supports volunteers from the community to act as mentors to young people who are under the supervision of the Probation and Welfare Service.

WHAD

Cherry Orchard Equine Centre, Dublin 10

Set up to provide a setting in which young offenders could address their offending and seek other alternative activities in their own locality. WHAD deliver programmes to 14-18 year old males at risk or on probation, focusing on crime and its consequences, and drug misuse. The programme offers social skills training, individual keyworker support, and activities (social and outdoor) as alternatives to criminal behaviour.

Nenagh Community Reparation Project

A restorative justice initiative developed between the local community and the Probation and Welfare Service with the objective to minimise repeat offending by confronting the offender with the impact of the crime on others and in particular, the victim.

Restorative Justice Services

15/16 Tallaght Business Centre, Whitetown Business Park, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

Developed in partnership with the Probation and Welfare Service and the local community, provides a range of restorative justice programmes to the Courts, Probation and Welfare Service and the wider community in a pre and post sentence context. Referred clients must have pleaded guilty or have accepted a finding of guilt by the Court. The programmes include victim/offender mediation, and offender reparation.
