Learning, Research and Development

The Research, Training and Development Directorate promotes and maintains a culture of continuous learning. It supports informs and develops a “best practice” approach to all aspects of service delivery.

The Directorate has 3 distinct functions: Learning/Training, Research and Development. It is a national service with operational hubs in Dublin, Cork and Athlone.

The Aim of the Directorate is:

· To develop, deliver and co-ordinate learning programmes to enhance the continuing professional development of staff.

· To identify, collate and where appropriate commission research to inform evidence based interventions that are shown to reduce re-offending

· To champion and inform the development of legislation, policy and practice initiatives.
