Information for Offenders and their families
The first contact you or your family will have with the Probation Service is probably after you have been before a court and either you have accepted responsibility for the offence or the facts have been proven. If you are under 18 years of age and your case is before the Children Court the Judge may ask the Probation Service to consider a Family Conference.
In both Adult and Children Courts before deciding to deal with your case the Judge will often ask for a pre-sanction report. The information in this report will aid the Judge in coming to a decision. Options involving a Probation Officer are outlined below.
- Family Conferences
- Pre-Sanction Reports
- Probation Supervision
- Community Service Orders
